"These paintings explore the notions of solitude within a society. Finding resolution in oil painting, reference materials are sourced by using the application Google Street View. This mode of collecting imagery to create a personal documentation assists in my interests in the impact of the digital age in our society; particularly it's concerns with cultural homogenization.
A variety of painting processes are used to avoid pure representation. Blurring imagery with static layering of paint, I intend to encourage debate over the depiction of critical space. White is recursive throughout the series, aiming to offer possibilities or potential loss of information in the fleeting relevance of place and time in the digital age." - Emmet Brickley
